I was glad that my kids learned to drive on gravel roads and pastures like I did. Though there are dangers, maybe more that city driving. My sons drove my mini trucks, Rangers, Mazdas and Chevy LUV. They were small enough to make it easy on my boys to follow behind me and the tractor/baler. In my C30 dually, the boys would both have to push on the clutch to get going along the fence roll. It was a great memory seeing their little heads bobbing up and down above the steering wheel. Most important lesson was soft shoulders on the gravel roads. I had the kids drive on the edge of the road to feel how it pulls you in. Both boys had kids in their class die from soft shoulders.
